The Honorable Laura Petro

Judge Petro became a circuit court, criminal division judge in December of 2002.  A graduate of Vanderbilt University (B.A. Sociology - 1980) and the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University (J.D. - 1983), Judge Petro worked for the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office (1983 - 2002) before becoming a judge.  Judge Petro is active in the Birmingham Bar Association, the Birmingham Bar Foundation, and the Alabama Association of Circuit Judges.
